چکیده

This study aimed to isolate and identify acidophilic actinobacteria. Acidophilic actinobacteria isolates were had from a paddy field soil in Osmancık placed near Çorum province Turkey. The dilution plate technique on seven selective media with pH 5.5 was used for isolation. 16S rRNA gene PCR amplification of performed. Three different algorithms the phylogenetic analyzes made MEGA 7.0 software. Twenty-two obtained media, according sequence analysis 22 isolates, twenty-one Streptomyces one Rhodococcus identified. antifungal activities isolated against Fusarium moniliforme Rhizoctonia solani, rice pathogenic fungi evaluated. activity have potential be as biological control agents pathogens.

Soilborne and invertebrate pathogenic Paecilomyces species show activity against pathogenic fungi and bacteria

The fungal genus Paecilomyces comprises numerous pathogenic and saprobic species, which are regularly isolated from insects, nematodes, soil, air, food, paper and many other materials. Some of the Paecilomyces species have been known to exhibit capabilities for curing human diseases. Here, bioactivities of metabolites from some soil inhabitant and invertebrate pathogenic Paecilomyces species we...

Actinobacteria from Termite Mounds Show Antiviral Activity against Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus, a Surrogate Model for Hepatitis C Virus

Extracts from termite-associated bacteria were evaluated for in vitro antiviral activity against bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV). Two bacterial strains were identified as active, with percentages of inhibition (IP) equal to 98%. Both strains were subjected to functional analysis via the addition of virus and extract at different time points in cell culture; the results showed that they were ...

Screening of Lovastatin Production by Filamentous Fungi

In the present study, 110 fungal strains of Persian Type Culture Collection (PTCC) including some selected strains isolated in various screening projects were tested for their potentiality to produce lovastatin, a competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMG-CoA reduc-tase), the rate-limiting enzyme of cholesterol biosynthesis. The fungal strains were cultivated in a t...
